ProPlay / The New York Playbook
From the city to your next inning.
Short reads for players who care about the game and the details. New York is our starting point. Your next play is the point.
01 / Baseball culture
Carry the city. Play your game.
A glove can say something before the first pitch. Maybe you like a quiet classic. Maybe your colors are impossible to miss. Neither choice makes the play for you—but both can feel like yours.
At ProPlay, our New York perspective is about showing up with purpose: a little edge, attention to the details, and respect for the game. That idea can travel to any diamond. Bring your own style, know your equipment, and let your effort do the talking.
We’re building our own ProPlay glove chapter, and it’s coming soon. Today’s glove room features other brands, each with its own identity. Find the one that fits your game while our story takes shape.
Follow the road to ProPlay ↗02 / Field preparation
Your before-the-first-pitch checklist.
Preparation starts before you step onto the field. A few checks can keep an equipment surprise from becoming the story of your day.
- Check your glove: look for loose or damaged laces, a torn web, and changes in the pocket.
- Pack with intention: keep the glove from being crushed under the rest of your gear. Bring the equipment your team and league require.
- Know the conditions: check the weather, field notices, and your team’s schedule before heading out.
- Keep the routine familiar: follow your coach’s warm-up and give yourself time to get settled.
A new glove deserves practice time before game day. Get familiar with its closure and feel; check return terms before breaking it in.

Choose the glove before the color.
Start with the job: your sport, position, throwing hand, and budget. Then compare the exact model’s length, pattern, and fit details. A striking colorway is a finishing touch, not a substitute for the right glove.
A right-handed thrower wears the glove on the left hand. A left-handed thrower wears it on the right. If a listing leaves that detail unclear, ask before ordering. The listed glove length also does not describe the hand opening, so compare with a glove you know and confirm the model’s fit.
Save a few favorites in your game bag and use the comparison page to narrow them down. Check the selected variant and availability again when you’re ready to buy.
