Know your leather: Japanese kip vs. steerhide vs. cowhide
Leather shapes how a glove feels, how it breaks in and how long it holds up. The quick version:
- Japanese kip — from younger cattle; the lightest of the three, with a tight, fine grain and a responsive feel.
- Steerhide — the thickest, toughest hide; a longer break-in, built for heavy daily use.
- Cowhide — softer out of the box and the quickest to break in; a great fit for youth and rec players.

Can I buy a ProPlay glove today?
Not yet, but you can reserve one free. Reservation holders get first access to buy when final models and prices are confirmed. The gloves currently available in our shop are from other brands, with their brand and model shown on each listing.
When is delivery expected?
Our expected delivery window is December 2026 – January 2027. This is an estimate, subject to sample approval, testing, and production timing.
Does a reservation cost anything or commit me to buy?
No. Reserving is free and doesn't charge your card. When details are confirmed we'll email you first; if it isn't right for you, simply don't complete the purchase.
Does joining the email list reserve a glove?
No. The email list provides collection news and marketing updates. To hold a spot for first access, use the free reservation.
Can you help me find a glove in the meantime?
