Glove Buying Guide

Find the Right Glove

The right glove depends on the sport, position, player age, hand orientation, and preferred fit.

Baseball vs. Softball

Softball gloves generally use a larger pocket to accommodate the larger ball, while baseball glove sizing and web designs vary heavily by position.

By Position

Infield: A more compact glove can help with quick transfers. Outfield: Longer gloves and deeper pockets can provide added reach and ball security. First Base: First-base mitts are designed for receiving throws and scooping. Catcher: Catcher's mitts use extra padding and a mitt-style pocket for repeated receiving.

Throwing Hand

A right-hand-throw glove is worn on the left hand. A left-hand-throw glove is worn on the right hand. Always check the product selection before ordering.

Fit Matters

Youth players generally need a more manageable fit and weight. Older and experienced players may prefer different pocket depths, leather feel, and break-in characteristics based on position and personal preference.
